Now that the weather is a little warmer and our mornings seem to be a little bit brighter, it is time to revamp our morning routine to start each day in the best possible way. The importance of a routine never fails to affect every single aspect of our lives. Putting a focus on our mental health, self-care and productivity are our keys to success this season!
Here are Swoop's top three tips to start your day off right!
Do anything but check your phone first thing in the morning. Of course we are all conditioned at this point to grab our phone from our bedside table and catch up on whatever is trending. Although, this may seem like a harmless habit, this practice instantly floods your brain with all sorts of information which can be super negative on your mental health. Remember that you can only take on challenges throughout your day if you're taking care of yourself. Try waking up and setting your intentions, working out or even step outside for a coffee and some fresh air. Your 2pm workday self will definitely thank you.
It may seem crazy but putting time into self-care and getting yourself ready each day is a routine that has the power to flip your mindset from bleh to a heck yeah! Ever heard of the phrase "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"? Now we're not saying it's time for a career change but you can amplify your work mindset by prepping an outfit or look each day that gets you out of those bad work from home habits. As much as your PJ's may be the only thing you want to wear all day, a little routine and refresh is good for the soul!
Listen to your body and give yourself what you need. Too little coffee and you're in need of a nap and too much coffee you're risking a panic attack. So what is the solution? Listen. To. What. Your. Body. Needs. This goes with everything in life. If you're feeling sore from a tough day online yesterday, stretch today and get your body back to a healthy place. Feel dizzy and overtired? Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! If there is one thing we can absolutely swear by it's that listening to your body and what you personally need overrides all tips and tricks we can give. Take care of your body and your body will take care of you!
