How To Soar Through Your Next Reel

This week on Swoop Scoop we want to focus on getting you noticed throughout one of Instagram's newest feature - Reels! You know the deal, a short video of clips merged together to create something that sticks. Sounds easy? Think again. With the ever-growing community on Instagram and the increase in popularity of video content, there is a lot of competition out there. Not to worry, Swoop has you covered so that you can soar through your next Reel with these three top tips. Enjoy!

  1. Create a script or outline of your idea. Although, Reels are limited in time, subject matter and creativity are definitely not limited in the slightest. Having a solid understanding of what you're trying to convey to your audience will save you from getting flustered and having to redo 150 takes. Plan out your video and give it a couple practices before jumping on the screen. If you're not super comfortable in-front of the camera just remember that mistakes make us more relatable and everyone loves relatable content. Just prep, relax and give it a shot!

  2. Research your hashtag sets. Since everyone is jumping on the Reel train it's important to plan out your strategy so that your creative content gets the recognition it deserves. Hashtags play a huge part in getting noticed especially within the first couple hours of publishing your content. A successful hashtag set can increase your views in the hundreds or even thousands per hour. Sign us up!

  3. Be weary of design elements that might be hidden or hard to read through the Reel feed. If you're not familiar with Reels than you may not know about the grid lines that limit the readable space on your videos. If you're looking to keep your Reels on your regular feed you will want to keep in mind the square limitation as well so that users don't have to jump to another feed to watch.

Let us know how your next Reel session goes! Any tips we missed? Send us a message and let's chat!

Until next week,
